Introduction
This article provides a brief summary of some important foundational facts, concepts, and terminology for people who are new to Christianity.
If everything at my website
(VividChristianity.com)
says
exactly
what God wants it to say, He will confirm that by doing a miracle.
See my article called
God Will Do a Miracle for Confirming That This Website Has Proper Teachings
for the details.
Background Facts and Concepts
All of these facts, concepts, and terminology are important for Christians to know about (even though we're not able to understand all of them while we're in these mortal, physical bodies), and God will do miracles to prove to you that these are all true (see my article in the previous section):
-
In our entire universe, there's only
one
actual God or Deity or Supreme Being or Divine Being, and there's only
one
true religion (that we call Christianity). Therefore, with one exception,
all
other religions, spiritual beliefs, cults, deities, gods or goddesses, supreme beings, divine beings, divine energies, nature spirits, universal consciousness, atheism, etc., that people believe in are false. No matter how strongly and deeply people believe in them, they're
all
just someone's inventions. They're all just made up, so not a single one of them is real. The only exception is Judaism, which was originally from God but went offtrack and became a false religion, and was superseded by Christianity. The Christian God (the only God) will do miracles for
any
Christian to prove all of that (see my article in the previous section).
-
God lives in heaven, which is everywhere outside of a physical universe. At some point, He decided to create our physical universe, and the earth, and the 1st 2 humans (that we call Adam and Eve) and animals and plants and so on. He created all of those 6,000 years ago (with the
appearance
of being very old).
-
He also created numerous angels to do various tasks, but one of them (that we call the devil) rebelled against Him and wanted to be in charge. He took about one-third of the angels (that we now call demons) with him in his rebellion. They hate God, and they hate all humans because God loves all humans, so they're completely malicious at all times. However, they can
only
do what God allows them to do. God allows them to be malicious because they're unwittingly helping to accomplish His plans and purposes, but as created beings they don't have even the tiniest fraction of His power.
-
As physical beings in this physical universe, we can't understand who God really is, but in the Bible He tells us that there's
one
God who eternally exists in 3 divine Persons that we call the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We can't understand how that's possible, but they're
not
3 separate Gods, and they're
not
3 different roles that God takes on at different times. They're all part of each other, all spiritually one, yet the Bible describes each one of them as God all by Himself (none of them are female). Therefore, we refer to them collectively as the Trinity (the three-in-one) or the Godhead.
-
God wanted to have a personal, close, loving relationship with humans, and we all would have had the best, safest, and most effective lives possible if we had obeyed Him and followed His guidance. He gave Adam and Eve (and their descendants, meaning all humans) complete authority over this world. However, Adam disobeyed God (the Bible often uses the word
sin
when referring to our disobedience), which had drastic consequences. It caused
every
human after Adam and Eve (with one exception) to be born with sin (disobedience) in their hearts (which is passed down to every child through every biological father), which broke our relationship with God (because He has a zero-tolerance policy toward sin). It also allowed the devil to take all of Adam and Eve's authority over this world as the legal conqueror (until he himself is conquered).
-
In the 1st century AD, God chose a Jewish woman named Mary (betrothed to a Jewish man named Joseph) and miraculously caused her to become pregnant (so we call her the Virgin Mary). We call her son Jesus, or Jesus Christ, or the Son of God, and He was not born with any sin in Him because He was not biologically conceived by a human father. God
needed
to come to earth as a human baby (that we call Jesus) because this world was created for humans to have authority over it, and the 1st human gave up that authority to a usurper (the devil), so it was up to a sinless human to take back that authority from the devil. But no human could do that because when the devil took control of this world,
all
humans were then under his authority as slaves to sin, even though most of them have not understood that fact. By having a virgin birth, Jesus was not under the devil's authority and was not a slave to sin (Jesus did not have a biological human father so He was not born with any sin in Him). By living a completely sinless life (meaning that He obeyed
everything
that God required, which no other human has ever done) and allowing Himself to be executed (crucified on a cross), Jesus destroyed the devil's authority in this world, and Jesus now has the conqueror's legal right over this world. After being dead for essentially 3 days, Jesus rose from the dead and is now in heaven. Before being born on earth He was 0% human and 100% God. On earth before the cross He was 100% human and 100% God, both at the same time, but He never used any of His own divine power, not even once. After being resurrected from the dead He is now 0% human and 100% God once again. Someday soon, He will return to the earth and take His rightful place as its ruler.

Thousands of years ago, out of all of the nations of the world, God chose a group of people called the Israelites (or the Jews) to be His special people, from whom His Son (Jesus) would eventually be born. One of those Israelites (named Moses) had a lot of faith in God, so God spoke through Moses, delivering a contract between Himself and the Jews (that we now call the Old Covenant). This contract contained 613 laws (that the Bible collectively calls the Law of Moses, or just the Law), and 10 of those laws are called the Ten Commandments. That contract was
only
for the Jews (for them to receive great blessings based on their obedience), so all of the other nations in the world (collectively called Gentiles) never had to obey the Ten Commandments or any of the other laws under the Old Covenant. With one exception, not a single person ever properly obeyed all of those laws. When Jesus died on the cross, He had fully and properly obeyed all of those laws. With Jesus' death, the Old Covenant was fulfilled and
completely canceled,
and a new contract (that we call the New Covenant) was instituted between God and
all
humans.
-
Starting in the time of Moses, Jesus wanted people to know some things about Himself, so He prompted various people to write some things down. The 39 books that He wrote through human authors
before
He was born on earth as a human baby are collectively called the Old Testament, and the 27 books that He wrote through human authors
after
He died and was resurrected and went back to heaven are collectively called the New Testament. All 66 books are collectively called the Bible (also called Scripture). Even though those 66 books were written by different humans in different time periods, the Bible is not just a collection of different books, but instead it contains a unified story throughout all 66 books because they were all written through the inspiration and prompting of Jesus, and they all say what He wanted them to say. When Scripture passages are properly understood, there are
no
errors or contradictions at all in those 66 books, partly because most of the Bible is not meant to be taken completely literally. We're supposed to ask Jesus for the proper understanding of Scripture passages rather than taking them literally or at face value.

The Old Testament contains numerous prophecies about the Jewish Messiah, whom the Jews believed would be a great King, bring about political sovereignty for the Jews, provide protection from all of their enemies, usher in world peace, and do other amazing things. On earth before the cross, Jesus was the Jewish Messiah and He fulfilled many of the prophecies about the Messiah, but He'll fulfill the rest of those prophecies after He returns to the earth (which we call the Second Coming).
Christian Facts and Concepts
The New Testament is the instruction manual for
all
Christians, and Jesus made sure that it would be relevant even in modern times.
Over the past 2,000 years, Christianity has become horribly fragmented by all kinds of wrong interpretations that people have about what the New Testament says. However, from before the beginning of time, Jesus had always planned to initiate a
revival
of proper teachings shortly before He returns to the clouds above the earth (which we call the Rapture). We sometimes refer to it as the great last-days revival (or the latter rain), and as of July 2026, this revival is now getting fully underway because He will be returning
very soon
(possibly within 5-7 years from July 2026).
I've already written an article (see
How to Obey God During the Great Last-Days Revival)
that provides a short summary for most of the doctrines and issues that Jesus wants Christians and churches to believe. You won't understand all of it when you read the article for the first time, but that's normal because we're meant to continue studying and learning (and at some point begin teaching others).
For the glory of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, who came in the flesh, was delivered over to death for our sins, and was raised to life for our justification.

"Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and
no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit."
(1 Corinthians 12:3)
"Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.
Such a person is the antichrist - denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father;
whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also."
(1 John 2:22-23)
"If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God."
(1 John 4:15)
"Dear friends,
do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,
because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." (1 John 4:1-3)
"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. I say this because
many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world.
Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist." (2 John 1:6-7)
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification."
(Romans 4:25)
